PROJECT REFERAL

AmSoft Systems implemented voice mail migration solution for IpUnity, a VOIP Products company based in Milpitas, California. In order to make service providers who are already using legacy voicemail systems to buy IPUNITY's voicemail system, IPUNITY recognized the need to migrate seamlessly the existing subscribers accounts with their voicemails from legacy system to IpUnity's Next Generation voicemail system.

solution objectives were:

  • Seamless and smooth migration of the voicemail (VM) subscribers from legacy voicemail systems to IpUnity's next generation voicemail system
  • Automate and quicken the process of voicemail migration
  • To provide user friendly interface to manage and control the migration process
  • To provide the user friendly interface to monitor the status of the voicemail migration

VM Migration solution consists of two major subsystems. The front-end modules, whose task is to add/delete mailboxes for migration, schedule and monitor the migration process by providing a user friendly GUI and CLI. The back-end modules, whose task is to retrieve and record the voicemails from legacy systems to mediaserver upon request from the front-end modules.

AmSoft primarily was responsible to design, architect and implement front-end modules while IpUnity implemented the backend modules. Integration and testing were done together at IPUnity's site via VPN. The project was divided into phases for better control. Duration of the project was 5 weeks and was staffed with a program manager, project leader and 3 developers.
