Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) was created by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to ensure high standards of broadcasting were maintained over successive Olympic Games. OBS is chiefly responsible for providing the pictures and images of the Olympic Games as a service to all broadcast organizations, who have purchased the television and radio rights to the Games.

OBS chose AmSoft Systems to strategize, Design, build and Implement a Service-oriented Framework to configure and enable key workflows of OBS. The framework is designed to create a Platform (as a Service) to support the entire ecosystem of OBS workflow applications, business services for the various users and stakeholders. OBS problem domain (in delivering higher Quality of Services) is that it is currently supported by Heterogeneous, Autonomous and Distributed applications running on an improvised infrastructure. The Service-oriented Framework will be implemented in a manner that structurally solves the issues that are a consequence of Heterogeneous, Autonomous and Distributed applications, and running on improvised infrastructure.

The project goals are:

• Replacing the current Software infrastructure and existing applications with a well designed, robust infrastructure that offers huge improvements across the two key axes
• Efficiency: Reliability, Configurability, Scalability, Manageability at Lower Costs with performance measured primarily through Technology Metrics such as Mean-time between Failure, Customers Served, Transactions concluded, etc. And
• Business Value: Greater business capability, Ease to create new Business Services and Flexibility to Change with performance measured primarily in Business Terms and Metrics such as ROI, Revenue Serviced, etc.
• Evolving the Services Framework into a comprehensive and rigorous Services
• Realizing the vision of OBS-Platform-as-Service is the ultimate goal delivering highly usable services, (user-centric, designed for People) to help OBS adapt at very low TCO
