AmSoft Systems, partnered with Kidata AG to implement the UniSwitch Platform based on the concept of proactive dynamic content value chain enabler. The Platform uses neural network based learning engine that constantly acquires content via various network protocols like HTTP, FTP, SMTP, NNTP, POP3 and Databases. This content is subjected to content normalization, rule-based filtering, personalization and value enhancement in real time. The processed content is available for delivery in multiple client formats like Web, WAP, PDF.

The platform becomes a necessity due to non-implementation of all the workflows in real time content lifecycle in traditional e-commerce platforms. Important workflows like content acquisition and content rendering though implemented are tightly coupled with these platforms. This makes extending acquisition and rendering a costly affair.

UniSwitch uses output media independent architecture that enables independent rendering engines that can be plugged-in to the platform any time. It uses CORBA's distributed architecture to provide clustered environment for better scalability. A cluster of acquisition engines normalizes data to protocol independent XML format and the rendering engines render and present this in specific formats. The platform uses both implicit and explicit personalization to provide personalized content to different users. Implicit personalization is done by using Neural Networks and Explicit personalization uses Rule matching technique. The platform has a high fault tolerance and high performance, by having multiple copies of critical components that are controlled by a centralized controller which is responsible for distribution and delegation of requests to these components.
