PROJECT REFERAL

AmSoft Systems implemented a Health Insurance Portability And Accountability Act (HIPAA) healthcare solution for Informatica Corporation. The objective of the solution was to package a repository incorporating HIPAA compliant reusable transformation objects for reading, validating, transforming and writing healthcare data.

HIPAA compliancy for healthcare is achieved by implementing the various transaction sets that HIPAA supports. Each transaction set is a distinct set of rules and guidelines to which the healthcare data must adhere. AmSoft understood and abstracted rules and guidelines for each transaction into specific business logic components. Common business logic components across transaction sets were identified to create reusable business component objects.

The solution objectives were:

  • Extracting business logic rules from the HIPAA transaction sets for building reusable transformations.
  • Developing transformations and reusable business objects to perform validation of the healthcare data
  • Collating the validated healthcare data into meaningful XML data
  • Building a repository of transformations and reusable business component objects

AmSoft created transformations and reusable business logic widget components to read, transform, validate and convert the validated data into XML data, which further enhances the ability of the payers to analyze the healthcare metrics and to finally bundle these components into a packaged repository.
