OVERVIEW
In today's world of mobile and Internet revolution, every subscriber has some
important data available in their personal mobile handset that they would like
to share with their family members, friends or others. Sharing of data -audio,
video, text and picture file, is emerging as a fast need of the consumers in
the fast changing life style and need for beyond voice services. ARPU from
voice will continue to decline while ARPU from data services are not rising as
expected. Data sharing service through mobile handsets will help service
providers to increase ARPU and increase volume thus more revenue generation and
margins.
Data sharing needs archiving "data to be shared" at some centralized storage
and access control to this data. Currently there is no easy mechanism defined
to archive this data at a centralized storage space and share this data with
others in controlled manner. The only mechanism available today is to share
data at a peer-to-peer level without any control over shared data. There is a
need to find a mechanism through which any mobile users can archive, share and
control the data after sharing it with others.
AmSoft's Push-To-Publish (P2P) is a reliable, high performance and scalable
solution that allows mobile user to archive data available on their mobile
handsets at a central storage location and manage access control to their data.
The data can be archived under predefined categories such as Personal, Friends,
Family etc or any other user defined categories. P2P solution provides
flexibility to the subscriber to share the data with peers or groups in a
controlled manner. Share control is managed by defining permissions - Multiple
view allowed, Download allowed and expiration date after which peers or groups
can no longer access this data.
Data that is published for sharing is notified to the peers or groups through
SMS, MMS or emails, which provides a web link to the shared data with access
details. Access can be through password or by defining permissions for that
subscriber. P2P solution allows sharing of text, audio, video, and picture
files or any other data that can be viewed on any mobile handset.
