Informatica PowerCenter Servers, when deployed in a heterogeneous, distributed environment, can become difficult to monitor and manage due to generation of asynchronous events. AmSoft's ProMonitor can be used for rapid identification of such events occurring in the network, during workflow executions and/or in the Extract, Cleanse, Transform, Load (ETL) processes.

AmSoft's ProMonitor facilitates effective and timely management of multiple PowerCenter Servers and Repositories running on different platforms, using a single standards-based interface, enabled through a web browser or a standard SNMP manager such as HP OpenView, IBM-Tivoli or CA-UniCenter. Furthermore, it allows you to create custom reports with easily defined formats and filters to derive critical causal data mined from ProMonitorTInformation Model. ProMonitorTalso archives data and hence allows data mining on history information related to ETL processes.

ProMonitor provides a Monitoring Dashboard, which is a persistent, and synchronized Monitoring and Control Panel, offering a macro as well as micro view of the status of servers, processes and critical events (such as an ETL failure). This virtualization of the PowerCenter environment simplifies a Data warehouse administrator's life by providing visibility into the 'behind-the-scenes' activities and mapping them onto visual cues and controls on the dashboard.

Additionally, ProActorTM, AmSoft's Event Management System, can supplement ProMonitorTby listening to ProMonitor events in the System, matching them with subscriber defined filters and notifying subscribers of events that need resolution via their preferred communication medium. The notifications are actionable and can also be set up to trigger closed loop corrective action, such as Workflow restart, Escalation to a system supervisor/administrator and tracking the issue till it gets resolved.
